Empowering Women, Guiding Paths

NOT ENOUGH!!

10 secrets to a perfect life ........huh!!

If someone asked me, “What’s the one secret to getting everything right in life?” I would honestly love to say there was one. It would make life so much easier if we could boil success down to a single golden rule. But the truth? There really isn’t one way that guarantees success in anything. Life just doesn’t work that way.

Let’s start with marriage. We’ve all heard the saying, “All you need is love.” Sounds nice, doesn’t it? But whoever came up with that was definitely far from the truth. Love is important, no doubt—it’s the foundation of every marriage. But love alone won’t hold a marriage together.

Marriage takes more. A lot more. It takes patience, resilience, perseverance, grace, mercy, forgiveness, and the steady hand of God guiding you both. Love may light the spark, but what keeps the flame alive are those daily choices to endure, to forgive, to extend grace. And let’s be real—if the love we’re relying on is just physical attraction, that flutter when she walks in or that rush when he looks at you, it won’t last. That kind of love is beautiful, but it’s not enough.

Now let’s shift gears and talk about careers and academics. Working hard matters. Loving what you do matters. Giving your best effort absolutely matters. But even that isn’t enough. Because what often sets people apart isn’t just their hustle. Sometimes it’s natural ability. Sometimes it’s the kind of exposure they’ve had in life. And sometimes—let’s call it what it is—it’s favour that shows up at the perfect moment.

I once heard a story that really brought this home. A friend of mine went to sit for an exam. Like everyone else, he was frantically cramming outside the hall. Then, out of nowhere, he felt the urge to use the bathroom and stepped away. As he walked, a sheet of paper blew across his path. He picked it up—and to his shock, it was the actual exam paper for that day! Every single question. He skimmed through, memorised what he could, and tossed the paper. Needless to say, he passed with flying colours. People would call that luck. But honestly, was it luck—or was it something bigger?

Here’s the point: our lives aren’t really in our own hands. There’s no guaranteed formula—no 24-step principle for success, no 10-step rulebook for the perfect marriage—that will work flawlessly for everyone. Life is too unpredictable for that.

At the end of the day, it comes down to entrusting your life to the Creator. The One who made heaven and earth. The One who gave His life for you. It’s about trusting Him with your story and believing He has good plans for you—even when you don’t see how it all comes together. Romans 8:32 puts it beautifully: “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

Yes, it sounds simple. Maybe even too simple for some. But think about it—would you really rather it be complicated? Would you prefer a life full of endless checklists, formulas, and principles, or one anchored in God’s love, where His favour steps in at just the right time?

Here’s the truth: love isn’t enough. Hard work isn’t enough. Intelligence isn’t enough. What is enough—what has always been enough—is Him.
